Gang Forecast - All BC Regions

The 7 day Gang Forecast is calculated with a combination of direct input provided by the industry’s Vessel Agents (via the Vessel Allocation Forecast system), the Stevedore/Terminal operators and the BCMEA Dispatch staff. It is intended to show, at a glance, how busy various BC port regions are projected to be.

The height and colour of the bars indicate the projected number of gangs requested to meet labour requirements in the port region for a 24 hour period. The colour of bar is different for each port region, see below:

VAN - Vancouver

	Green - bars indicate 0 - 10 gangs have been requested
	Yellow- bars indicate 11 - 30 gangs have been requested
	Red- bars indicate more than 30 gangs have been requested

SQU - Squamish

	Green - bars indicate 0 - 2 gangs have been requested
	Yellow- bars indicate 3 - 4 gangs have been requested
	Red- bars indicate more than 4 gangs have been requested

NW - New Westminster

	Green - bars indicate 0 - 12 gangs have been requested
	Yellow- bars indicate 13 - 28 gangs have been requested
	Red- bars indicate more than 28 gangs have been requested

PR - Prince Rupert

	Green - bars indicate 0 - 4 gangs have been requested
	Yellow- bars indicate 5 - 10 gangs have been requested
	Red- bars indicate more than 10 gangs have been requested

VI - Vancouver Island

	Green - bars indicate 0 - 1 gangs have been requested
	Yellow- bars indicate 2 - 3 gangs have been requested
	Red- bars indicate more than 3 gangs have been requested

CW - Coastwise

	Green - bars indicate 0 - 1 gangs have been requested
	Yellow- bars indicate 2 - 3 gangs have been requested
	Red- bars indicate more than 3 gangs have been requested

New Job Positions - Vancouver

The "New Job Positions - Vancouver" graph represents actual new longshore labour positions requested to be filled by the Vancouver dispatch center. It is intended to show, at a glance, how busy the port of Vancouver will be for the upcoming shifts. The data is calculated based on combination of input from the Stevedore and/or Terminal operators in the port of Vancouver.

"Dispatch finish times" are stated by the dispatch center when all requested job positions have been assigned during the main dispatch. Dispatch finish times do not reflect job assignments requested after order and cancellation times.

The colour and height of the bar represent the number of new positions requested for various shifts, see below:

Day Shift - 08:00 Start

	Green - bars indicate 0 - 99 new job positions have been requested
	Yellow- bars indicate 100 - 299 new job positions have been requested
	Red- bars indicate more than 299 new job positions have been requested

Night Shift - 16:30 Start

	Green - bars indicate 0 - 99 new job positions have been requested
	Yellow- bars indicate 100 - 299 new job positions have been requested
	Red- bars indicate more than 200 new job positions have been requested

Graveyard Shift - 01:00 Start

	Green - bars indicate 0 - 99 new job positions have been requested
	Yellow- bars indicate 100 - 199 new job positions have been requested
	Red- bars indicate more than 200 new job positions have been requested
